Last Night’s Highlights
Jose Abreu went 3-5 and homered in his second straight game and Avi Garcia doubled and drove in a pair of runs in the White Sox’ 7-5 loss to the Orioles.

Abreu homered in back-to-back games for the second time this season (also June 12-13). He is batting .314 with two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and and six runs scored over his last 13 games and recorded his sixth three-plus hit game of the season (32nd multi-hit)…Garcia is hitting .286 with three doubles, three home runs, six RBI, one walk and six runs scored over his last six games…Justin Morneau extended his hitting streak to seven games with a second-inning single. He is hitting .321 with three doubles, two home runs, four RBI, two walks and two runs scored during the streak…nWith a pair of hits last night, Tyler Saladino is batting .294 with two doubles, two RBI, three walks, two stolen bases and six runs scored over his last 15 games.
New Trier product Charlie Tilson underwent successful surgery on Thursday to repair his torn left hamstring and will miss the remainder of the season. The good news is that the speedy outfielder, acquired before the trade deadline for Zach Duke, is expected to be available without restrictions by the start of spring training…Zach Putnam underwent surgery on Thursday to remove a bone fragment from his right elbow. The ligament was intact. Zach will begin rehabbing next week in Ann Arbor, Mich. and his status will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks.
Zack Burdi, the Sox’ second pick in this year’s MLB draft out of Downers Grove and the University of Louisville, has tossed 8.1 straight shutout innings in a relief role. He has allowed just one hit along with 12 strikeouts in his last five appearances for the Class AA Birmingham Barons.

Adam Eaton visited last night with Chris Rose on the USCF set of the MLB Network’s Intentional Talk.

White Sox Junior RBI Team Prevails
Pool Play in the Junior Division of the 2016 Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) World Series began today at the P&G Cincinnati Youth Academy. The White Sox Junior RBI Team defeated Dominican Republic North RBI, 7-6.
Sixteen-year-old Brandon Simon went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles and a run scored in the Sox’ victory.
