Last Night’s Highlights
Miami-born Carlos Rodon won his third game of the season–giving up just one run and three hits in six innings–and Jose Abreu collected a pair of hits and an RBI with his son Dariel watching him play in person for the first time as the Sox moved past the Marlins in Miami, 4-2.
Adam Eaton enjoyed a four-hit night for the 10th time in his career with a run scored and Tyler Saladino, Melky Cabrera and Tim Anderson added an RBI apiece. Omar Narvaez singled, walked three times and scored.
Dan Jennings (0.1), Nate Jones (1.1) and David Robertson (1.0) held the Marlins scoreless in relief of Rodon while Robertson hurled a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts for his 28th save.
Here’s a glimpse at Rodon’s outstanding performance and Eaton’s hit parade:

Quote of the Day
Abreu on having his son, who lives in Cuba, in the house (via MLB.com):
“The only thing he asked me is to just hit a homer. That’s the only thing that he asked me.
“To have my son here is very nice. Everybody knows how I am with my family. All of my family and I are very happy because we have him here. It was a special moment for us, and we’re trying to take advantage of all the time that we can spend together.
“I have to do everything I can to try to help this team win all three games. But he’s going to be happy either way. I’m a professional, and everybody knows that once we are on the field, we have to do our best to try to help this team win.
“Everybody has known that we have seven or eight months without seeing each other. But I’m happy he’s here and I’m happy that he can come tonight to see me play. Like I said before, I’m going to treat it as motivation and have to channel it the best way possible.”
Sox Notes of Note
