Tonight’s Game

White Sox vs. Mariners (6:10 p.m. CT, CSN) in the third game of the four-game set. Starting Pitchers: LHP Jose Quintana (10-9, 2.84) for the Sox, LHP Ariel Miranda (1-0, 4.58) for Seattle.

Q makes his 25th start and 11th at home. He ranks third in the American League in ERA and is 5-1 with a 2.25 ERA over his last nine starts. He earned his career-high 10th win in his last start on August 21 vs. the A’s, allowing two runs over seven innings. Quintana won on July 19 in Seattle, giving up just one earned run in six innings of work.

Last Night’s Highlights

Chris Sale tossed a complete game, allowing three runs in nine innings while striking out 14, and Todd Frazier connected with his 32nd homer in the 3-1 loss to Felix Hernandez and the Mariners.

Roster Moves

The White Sox have traded catcher Dioner Navarro to the Blue Jays for LHP Colton Turnerand activated catcher Alex Avila from the disabled list.

Prospect Alec Hansen Draws a Crowd

The staff of Baseball America (pictured below) couldn’t resist being in the house last night to watch highly touted RHP Alec Hansen make his first start at Class A Kannapolis after being promoted from Rookie League Great Falls.

Hansen tossed five innings in his debut with the Intimidators, allowing three runs and five hits with six strikeouts.


Tomorrow’s Schedule

White Sox vs. Mariners (1:10 p.m. CT, WGN) in the finale of the four-game series and nine-game homestand. Starting Pitchers: LHP Carlos Rodon (4-8, 4.02) for the Sox, RHP Taijuan Walker (4-8, 4.14) for the Mariners.
