Last Night’s Highlights
Tyler Saladino delivered a two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning and belted a solo homer (8) in the seventh to give the White Sox a 3-2 lead, but the Tigers came back in the eighth and prevailed, 4-3.
James Shields had a quality start, allowing two runs and six hits along with six strikeouts in six innings.
With his single and double last night, Jose Abreu now has a 25-game on-base streak. It’s the longest of his career and longest active streak in the major leagues.
Tim Anderson‘s pair of singles gave him his 25th multi-hit effort of his rookie season. His batting average is up to .286.
