Photo of the Day
The last time Rienzo took the mound he pitched a no-hitter for Charlotte. Tonight against the Indians he makes his major league debut and as a result becomes the second player from Brazil (Yan Gomes was the first) and the first Brazilian-born pitcher to reach “The Show.”
Because Rienzo and Cleveland’s Gomes are the only Brazilians in the majors, tonight’s game represents a significant news story in Brazil. As a result, ESPN Brazil will be broadcasting our game across the country with the network using the raw audio/video feed of WCIU’s broadcast featuring Hawk and Tom Paciorek, who is subbing for Steve Stone. There will be no subtitles.
