Quote(s) of the Day

Jesse Crain, upon being traded yesterday to Tampa Bay, talked about his time in Chicago:

“Great teammates, great city. I had an organization that’s been amazing to me. They brought me in here for three years and treated me unbelievably. I think I got better over three years here, for sure.”

Catcher Josh Phegley on Rienzo, his battery mate at Charlotte:

“A bulldog and a perfectionist.”

Play of the Day

John Danks gave up just one earned run and a pair of hits in six innings of work in last night’s 3-2 loss to the Indians.

Tomorrow’s Schedule

White Sox vs. Indians at Progressive Field, Cleveland (6:05 p.m., CT, CSN). Starters: LHP Jose Quintana (5-3, 3.55) for the Sox vs. RHP Corey Kluber (7-5, 3.74) for Cleveland.

Did You Know…

…that Rienzo will be the first White Sox player in history to wear uniform number 64?

Photo of the Day

The last time Rienzo took the mound he pitched a no-hitter for Charlotte. Tonight against the Indians he makes his major league debut and as a result becomes the second player from Brazil (Yan Gomes was the first) and the first Brazilian-born pitcher to reach “The Show.”

Because Rienzo and Cleveland’s Gomes are the only Brazilians in the majors, tonight’s game represents a significant news story in Brazil. As a result, ESPN Brazil will be broadcasting our game across the country with the network using the raw audio/video feed of WCIU’s broadcast featuring Hawk and Tom Paciorek, who is subbing for Steve Stone. There will be no subtitles.
