Sox Prospects Headed to Arizona Fall League
The Arizona Fall League, a proving ground for the game’s top prospects, today announced its rosters for the 2013 season, which begins on October 8 and extends through November 14.
Sox players include pitchers Charlie Leesman (Class AAA Charlotte with one start for the Sox), Stephen McCray (Charlotte), Chris Bassitt (Class AA Birmingham) and Kevin Vance (Birmingham) plus infielders Marcus Semien (Charlotte) and Micah Johnson (Class A Winston-Salem). They will be playing in the six-team league for the Glendale Desert Dogs along with prospects from the Dodgers, Marlins, Reds and Twins.
Happy Birthday to White Sox colleagues Jim Thome (43) and Buddy Bell (62) and former Sox catcher Ed Herrmann (67).
In yesterday’s post, I mentioned the passing of former Sox pitcher Jack Harshman. Today, Jim Margalus of South Side Sox took an in-depth look at Harshman, who he calls “one of his favorite old White Sox.” It’s a great read.
Play(s) of the Day
Adam Dunn hit his 30th homer, a two-run blast, Jeff Keppinger went deep with a solo shot, his fourth, and Alejandro De Aza had a four-hit game with an RBI in last night’s 10-8 loss to the Astros. Keppinger, Paulie, Avi Garcia, and Josh Phegley each added a pair of hits to the 14-hit attack.

Did You Know…
…that Dunn is hitting .299 with 17 home runs and 48 RBI over his last 69 games and reached the 30 home run plateau last night for the ninth time in his career? Adam joins Thome (2006-08) as the only lefthanded hitters in franchise history to record consecutive seasons with 30 or more homers. Dunn hit 41 last season.
