Sox Notes of Note
With his base hit last night Ramirez is just one shy of Frank Thomas’ Sox record of 15 consecutive games with a hit to start the season…Adam Dunn hit his 443rd homer, passing Dave Kingman for 38th place on the all-time list, and his walk in the sixth inning put him past Rusty Staub for 49th all-time. Dunn reached base in all four plate appearances last night with the homer and three walks…he has reached base safely in all of his 11 games played…RHP Chris Beck pitched a complete-game (seven innings) three-hit shutout for the Class AA Birmingham Barons last night in the opener of a doubleheader on the road against the Mobile BayBears. The Barons won that first game 2–0 and the second game 5–2 to sweep the twin bill and extend their winning streak to five games.
