USA Wins First WBC Championship
Team USA, with White Sox relievers David Robertson and Nate Jones bolstering the bullpen throughout the tournament, captured its first World Baseball Classic title last night at Dodger Stadium with a convincing 8–0 victory over Puerto Rico. Robertson tossed a scoreless ninth, giving him the distinction of recording the final out of the game by retiring Astros’ star Carlos Correa.

2B Yolmer Sanchez (see Photo/Video of the Day) slugged his second home run of the spring and tripled while LF Melky Cabrera delivered a two-run double in the Sox’ 5–3 loss to the A’s at CR-G.

LHP Jose Quintana, in his first Cactus League start since returning from the World Baseball Classic where he pitched so well for his native Colombia, is the scheduled Sox starter.
