What to Know for the Upcoming Homestand

The White Sox will kick off a ten-game homestand on Monday, loaded with promotional giveaways, theme nights and special appearances for series vs. the Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins and the New York Mets from July 24 through August 1 at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The upcoming homestand is highlighted by Marvel Super Hero Night and a White Sox Spider-Man Bobblehead giveaway for the first 12,000 fans on Saturday, July 27 vs. Minnesota. Fans will receive a Spider-man pin by checking in through the MLB Ballpark app at the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room. Fans will be treated to a postgame fireworks show, presented by Magellan, shortly after the conclusion of the game.

Special Appearances

  • Chicago Bulls center Wendell Carter Jr. and mascot Benny the Bull will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on July 22 vs. Miami in celebration of Chicago Bulls Night. Carter was the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, and played college basketball at Duke University.
  • Performing artist Nick Cartell will sing the National Anthem on July 22 vs. Miami. Cartell currently plays the role of Jean Valjean on the national tour of Les Misérables.
  • Soccer player Tierna Davidson of the United States Women’s National Team will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on July 23 vs. Miami. Davidson helped secure the U.S. Women’s team second consecutive World Cup two weeks ago. She was drafted first overall by the Chicago Red Stars in the 2019 NWSL College Draft after playing three years of college soccer at Stanford University.
  • In celebration of Pride Night, Billy Bean will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on July 23 vs. Miami. Bean is a former MLB player and currently serves as the first ever MLB Ambassador of Inclusion.
  • Country music artist, Mickey Guyton will sing the national anthem and throw out the ceremonial first pitch in celebration of Country Music Night on July 26 vs. Minnesota. Guyton will also perform an acoustic set before the game.
  • Eastern Illinois head football coach Adam Cushing will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on July 28 vs. Minnesota. Cushing is a Chicago-native and was a long-time assistant coach at Northwestern. He’s entering his first as head coach of Eastern Illinois after being hired in December 2018.
  • Actor and hip-hop artist Ice Cube will throw out the ceremonial first on August 1 vs. the New York Mets. Ice Cube is the founder of the professional 3-on-3 basketball league, Big 3, which comes to Chicago at All State Arena on August 3.

Themes and Promotions

The Chicago White Sox will celebrate Sox Serve Week — its 11th annual community outreach and fundraising campaign benefitting Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) — beginning Monday, July 22, through Sunday, July 28. Sox Serve Week engages Sox fans and the Chicagoland community through outreach events that feature current players and special fundraising opportunities. Sox Serve Week is presented in partnership with Beggars Pizza, Goose Island Beer Co., Guaranteed Rate, Magellan Corporation, Proven IT, United Airlines and Wintrust Community Banks. Chicago Bulls Kid Nation Night will take place on Monday, July 22 vs. Miami. 500 participants will walk in a pregame parade. The Bulls’ championship trophies will be on display in the outfield concourse along with the LuvaBulls dance team.

The White Sox will celebrate Pride Night on Tuesday, July 23 vs. Miami. Specially priced tickets are available at whitesox.com/pride, which includes a White Sox pride flag and access to a pregame parade. A portion of the proceeds will benefit You Can Play. Fans can also receive a White Sox pride flag by checking in through the MLB Ballpark app at the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room.

Autism Inclusion Night will take place on Wednesday, Jul 24 vs. Miami. Specially priced tickets are available at whitesox.com/autism. There will be no fireworks, and there will be designated quiet rooms throughout the ballpark. A portion of the proceeds will go towards Autism Speaks.

Dollar Hot Dog Wednesday, presented by Securian Financial, takes place on July 24 vs. Miami and July 31 vs. the New York Mets. The popular large and juicy Vienna Beef premium hot dogs will be available for $1 at Guaranteed Rate Field’s concession stands on the 100 and 500-level concourses and in-seat vending as well as club level concessions. There will be a limit of four per person per concession visit, while supplies last. Fans will be treated to a post-game fireworks show, presented by Village of Bedford Park, shortly after the conclusion of the game.

Christmas in July will be celebrated on Thursday, July 25 vs. Minnesota. Fans can take home a specially designed Miracle on 35th Street t-shirt, part of Free T-shirt Thursday. Santa Claus, snow globe photo opportunities and an ice sculptor will be located in the Xfinity Kids Zone. Fans can receive a White Sox Christmas ornament by checking in through the MLB Ballpark app at the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room.

Bingo Night will take place on Thursday, July 25 in the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room. Fans of all ages can visit the Tap Room for a free round of Bingo from 6 p.m. — 7 p.m.

Country Music Night, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place on Friday, July 26. Fans will be treated to a postgame fireworks show, presented by Coca-Cola, shortly after the conclusion of the game.

Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) will celebrate their annual Grant Day on Saturday, July 27 vs. Minnesota. CWSC will honor 30 Chicagoland non-profit organizations that received 2019 grants through the White Sox Community Fund, a McCormick Foundation Fund. These donations accounted for nearly $2.2 million cumulative charitable donations over the past year. This event is part of this year’s Sox Serve Week.

Chi Sox Bar & Grill is the official post-game headquarters of the Chicago White Sox. After every home game, Chi Sox Bar & Grill offers ½ priced appetizers to all fans! There will be a post-game party on Saturday, July 27.

Coca-Cola Family Sunday will take place on July 28 vs. Minnesota. Kid-friendly activities include kids running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloon artists and a caricature artist. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Tickets and additional information are available at whitesox.com/Sundays.

The fifth Kids’ Autograph Session, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place on Sunday, July 28. The first 125 kids (ages 13 and under) who enter the ballpark through the Chicago Sports Depot entrance (located near parking Lot B and Gate 5) at 11:15 a.m. will be given a wristband and directed to a special area for the autograph session. José Abreu, José Ruiz, Jace Fry and Jon Jay are scheduled to appear. A regular game ticket is required to participate. Information, including future dates, is available at whitesox.com/autographs.

Margaritaville at the Park will be held on Wednesday, July 31 vs. the New York Mets. Specially priced tickets are available at whitesox.com/margaritaville, which includes a Margaritaville-themed White Sox Dri-fit t-shirt. T-shirt vouchers are limited to the first 1,250 tickets purchased.
