This weekend, the final homestand of what has been an exciting 2020 regular season will see a crosstown matchup between the playoff bound White Sox and Cubs.

The South Side Edition of the Wintrust Crosstown Series holds much more than a baseball battle at Guaranteed Rate Field. For just the third time in history, the White Sox and Cubs have reached MLB’s postseason in the same year.

As both teams eye to clinch their respective divisions, AL MVP favorite José Abreu looks to lead the Sox to one more regular season series win before the White Sox enter their first postseason matchup since 2008.

Here’s what you can expect to see from the Sox during the homestand:

At the ballpark

· WE’RE IN! For the first time in 12 years, the White Sox are headed to the postseason! Official 2020 White Sox Postseason gear and much more is now available at the Chicago Sports Depot! The Depot is open at 35th and Shields on Tuesdays-Saturdays from 12–4 p.m. Masks and social distancing are REQUIRED at all times in the store. #ChangeTheGame — This crosstown series is the best time for Sox fans to be seen and heard at Guaranteed Rate Field! · Keep an eye out for more FANtastic Faces in the stands for this series against the Cubs! Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) reopened the fan cutout initiative on Sept. 4 and the Sox fan turnout for this crosstown classic will be immense! During both waves of the FANtastic Faces initiative, 3000 cutouts were purchased by Sox fans, raising more than $100,000 for CWSC! Thank you White Sox fans!
