White Sox Announce Opening Series Events
Ceremonial First Pitch by Newly Elected Hall-of-Famer Harold Baines; $50,000 Guaranteed Sox Split Jackpot at Home Opener
CHICAGO — The Chicago White Sox start off the 2019 season with promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Seattle and Tampa Bay.
The White Sox celebrate the return of baseball in Chicago with a ceremonial first pitch by newly elected Hall-of-Famer Harold Baines on Thursday, April 4. Other highlights for the White Sox home opener include:
· National Anthem performed by Miguel Cervantes, singer/actor known for his role as Alexander Hamilton in the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton”
· Free T-Shirt Thursday, presented by CIBC: The first 20,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a 2019 commemorative Opening Day T-Shirt
· Ford Drive Around: Introduction of 2019 White Sox players and coaches as they arrive on field in Ford Mustangs
· Presentation of the flag by 125 White Sox Volunteer Corps members in honor of the program’s 10-year anniversary
· Flyover by VFA-213 (F/A-18s) of the United States Navy
Parking lots will open at 10 a.m. and the gates to the ballpark will open at 11 a.m. Fans are advised to be in their seats by 12:15 p.m. CT for the opening ceremony.
The home opener also will feature a Sox Split guaranteed jackpot starting at $50,000, presented by Wintrust and benefiting White Sox Charities. Tickets are now available online for Illinois residents at whitesox.com/soxsplit. Sales will conclude at the end of the sixth inning of the home opener.

Special Appearances
– Chicago native singer/songwriter RJ Griffith will perform the National Anthem on Saturday, April 6. Griffith is the lead tenor for gospel-inspiration group Zions Joy as well as an active member of the community as founder of the Positive Vibes Only event program for teens.
– Chicago native actor Michael Epps will throw a ceremonial first pitch on Sunday, April 7. Epps currently stars as Jake on Showtime’s hit series “The Chi.”

Themes and Promotions
The first Coca-Cola Family Sunday will be held on April 7. Coca-Cola Family Sundays offer tickets as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level (plus applicable city and county taxes) with $10 parking. Entertainment includes children running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist and poster-making station (Sections 159 and 535). $1 Hot Dog Wednesdays, presented by Securian Financial, return for the third season on April 10. This ongoing promotion offers Vienna Beef hot dogs for $1 at concession stands on the 100- and 500-level concourses, in-seat vending as well as club level concessions. Broadcast Information
Thursday, Tuesday and Wednesday’s games will be televised on NBC Sports Chicago. WGN-TV will broadcast the games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. All six games will air on WGN AM 720, the White Sox flagship radio station, and WRTO-AM 1200/Univision Radio, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.
