Touki Toussaint made his 12th start (16th appearance) of the season and sixth (eighth) on the road. He went 6.0 IP with 2 H, 2 R, 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.

The White Sox took the lead in the 4th as Gavin Sheets doubled on a sharp line drive to Kyle Isbel, scoring Andrew Vaughn. The Kansas City Royals came back in the bottom of the frame with a 2-run homer by Nelson Velázquez.

Andrew Vaughn and Yoán Moncada launched back-to-back home runs in the 6th! Moncada’s homer went 433 ft. to extend the lead, 4–2.

Oscar Colás joined in on the home run party in the 7th! His 5th home run of the season made the score 5–2.

The Royals didn’t give up. Edward Olivares hit a 2-run home run in the 8th to shorten the White Sox lead, 5–4.

Andrew Benintendi brought in an insurance run in the 9th. His RBI single drove in Korey Lee to extend Chicago’s lead, 6–4.

Lane Ramsey, Aaron Bummer, Gregory Santos and Bryan Shaw all provided innings of relief. Shaw earned his 2nd save of the season.

Elvis Andrus went 4-for-5 on the night as a late substitution for Tim Anderson. Andrew Vaughn went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 R.

The White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals, 6–4, at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Chicago concludes the trip this weekend with three games at Detroit (9/8–10) before returning home for three games vs. the Royals (9/11–13) and four vs. Minnesota (9/14–17).
